Kwasi Asante – ACII (UK), CA (GHANA), ARM, MBA (FINANCE)
Mr Kwasi Asante is a member of the Board and the Chief Executive Officer of the company.
He is a Chartered Insurer, a Chartered Accountant (C.A-Ghana), an Associate in Risk Management (USA) and holds Masters in Business Administration in Finance from University of Manchester- UK. He has commendable knowledge in Finance, Risk and Strategic Management.
He served as the Chief Executive Officer of The Institute of Chartered Accountants –Ghana (ICAG) from March 2006 to June 2013 and successfully instituted policies which contributed to stemming tide of most brilliant accounting students opting for foreign accountancy courses.
Kwasi was engaged by National Insurance Commission from June, 2004 to December, 2005 as a Consultant to lead its staff to conduct on –site inspection of selected insurance companies.
He assisted Volta River Authority (VRA) from 2007 to 2010 to prepare Bid specifications and solicited proposals from insurance market, evaluated the bidders as to the level of their respective financial solvency and their bids.
He served in alternating capacity as executive director/ director of Trans- National Insurance Brokers limited from January, 2005 to December, 2016.
He took up an appointment with DANIDA as a Financial Consultant attached to the Ministry of Women and Children’s Affairs to manage its funded projects from March 2003 to May, 2004.
He served as Finance Manager of Ghana Union Assurance Company ltd (GUA) from 1985 to 1992 and, in 1993, was promoted to the position of the General Manager (Finance and Administration). He also served as the Secretary to the Board from 1988 to February, 2003. During the period he helped the Board to take strategic decisions to manage the investments and the financial risks of the company effectively and efficiently to earn the top spot in investing income in the insurance industry.
Prior to joining the insurance industry, Kwasi worked with KPMG and Ayew Agyemang Turkson and Co –all firm of Chartered Accountants between 1979 and 1985.
He has been a part-time lecturer in Legal Accountancy at the Ghana School of Law since 2006 to date.
